Promoting General Well-being

Physical fitness is a state of health and well-being; it is the ability to perform various tasks without undue fatigue. Hence, being physically fit gives you activeness inside the school and feeling tired and stress is prevented.

Our school ISNHS conducted the annual Intramurals that builds up camaraderie, sportsmanship and vast talents and skills. It aims to prevent the dawning of diseases.

To formally open the Intramurals, a parade was done at places nearby the school. Program was organized after the parade and was attended by guests. Dancesport competition was able to end the program. And luckily Grade 10 contenders won the said competition.

The next day, various sports competition were able to start the games. Fun part was the fundraising activity of the different clubs wherein students were able to enjoy different booths- Chem Lock, Photo Booth, Message Booth, etc.

The intramurals wasn't a success without the effort of the MAPEH teachers and of course the support from the principal.

Science:A Discovery

Science is life, and life is full of discovery. Science is a thing in which discoveries evolves. And these discoveries grow and develop. Science Month Celebration is a feast in which new things in yourself can be observed. 

ISNHS's Science Month Celebration consists of various activities- Sci Trix, Himig Kalikasan, G. at Bb. Kalikasan and etc.

Science Tricks (Sci Trix) is an activity in which you can see yourself as an entertainer. For you entertain people through your amazing tricks with science concept. You can also observe that you don't just entertain people but also you educate them through informing or telling them why or how does that trick happen.

Himig Kalikasan an activity that involves the discovery of your own talent, it may not just be a discovery but it is an activity that also enhances your talent. It enhances your talent in way that you are able to sing for your fellow students and teachers. It exercises and boost your confidence, for you will be facing different faces and reactions.

Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan is an activity that enables you to discover the two discoveries mentioned above. In this activity, you're able to entertain people through showcasing your talent and inform others through voicing out your opinion or answer with a certain topic or question. But the most important thing is that you are able to lead everyone in preserving and conserving nature's beauty through your advocacy.

Science, for everyone maybe its the hardest one for it also involves numbers. But not, science is like your mother or basically your family for it enables and urges you to discover your hidden ones-talent/s, wit and leadership. Science is life.

Solidarity: Preserving the Heritage of the City

Vigan is place where “time stood still”. The City of Vigan is an exceptionally intact and well-preserved example of a European trading town in East and East Asia. Its architecture reflects the fusion of cultural elements from the Philippines and Europe, resulting in a culture and townscape that has no parallel anywhere in East and Southeast Asia.

Every September, Vigan City celebrates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival. In this celebration aims to strengthen the pride in the City’s history and culture, promote friendship and divinity. It serves as a great venue for forging ties and understanding through community’s involvement in the city’s various activities that depicts love for culture, arts and entertainment.

The festival in not only a month-long festivity in solidarity with other World Heritage Cities. But also an enactment of Republic Act No. 10066 of the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009.

One-day celebration isn’t enough to showcase the heritage of the city, so the government made it a whole month celebration. Ilocano culture will explode through different competitions. Bigueños are also asked to come out of their ancestral or modern-age houses to relish the Ilocano culture and the history of Vigan. This is trough songs, dances, stage plays, literature, street drama complete with floats.

Preserving the Ilocano culture is a way of bringing the city’s history to life.

Far from Expectations

Entering school is sometimes a fear of a person. In fact, when I was young I was horrified to enter school. Even though my family was a Co-founder of a private school. Fear in entering school is also a fear of failure.

Region 1 or the so called “Ilocos” is truly a home of a competent and well-molded brains, for it even made a movement that seeks to promote a better and enjoyable place to study, the Happy Schools Movement. This aims to inculcate in every student’s minds that school is not just a place for learning but also a place for fun and enjoyment.

With this program, base from my experience, it requires a certain school to pass an output in every learning area. In which teachers ask students to do something connected with that subject, in which the teacher is inclined. Thus, the students really exert effort and even spend money just to have an appealing project, for it is also graded. But the disappointing part is that, when the project was chose to be exhibited, only chosen students are the ones that can join the exhibit, especially the classroom officers. With this, is it really good to call this movement a happy one? In my own opinion, this is not a happy movement, because this is just a waste of time for it even interrupts classes.

From the aims formulated of this movement, I think it is really a different from what has done. I don’t even find it fun and enjoyable.
