
Vigan’s main church, the Metropolitan Cathedral is dedicated to St. Paul and it stands at the core of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia. The Vigan City Fiesta usually lasts for several days. It includes within the period the celebration of the anniversary of the cityhood of Vigan, which is commemorated every January 27.
Truly, Vigan City has much to offer to people and to the world. Having a festive celebration always makes the month of January special for the people of Vigan. The fiesta is being joined by thousands of tourists or visitors from the Philippines and even from other countries. The visitors are being entertained by the cultural shows, parades and street dancing. The street dancing and showdown is being contested by some students around Vigan and even outside the city. For more colorful and joyful fiesta, food fairs, arts and crafts exhibits and as well as carnival are put up for the visitors to enjoy.
